About Unkle Earl

Howdy, I’m Unkle Earl.

On May 12, 2015, I received a gift of life…a double lung transplant. Thanks to God, my donor, the doctors, nurses and staff of the University of Maryland Heart and Lung Transplant Center, I now have a second chance to live my best life.

Growing up in East Baltimore I loved to collect sports cards and comic books. My dream was to one day own and operate a sports card and comic book store. During my recovery the nurses often called me Uncle Earl. In dedication to their kindness, unwavering service and support, I took the “C” out of Uncle and replaced it with the letter “K” and named my online store and book Unkle Earl. Although there were many ups and downs during my recovery, I was determined to make it through. Unkle Earl’s logo and emblem represents a superhero that fights for survival against illnesses and diseases through perseverance, hope, faith, strength and determination.
